Mission...
For Girls -
Our goal is to reach girls before they or as they leave home and train
them in basic home management skills. These Biblically taught
skills will help make the transition into their independent lives much
smoother, ultimately making them better wives, and strengthening their
families.
For Women -
We also know how important it is for women to encourage each
other. We hope to do this through devotionals, household tips,
cooking tips, quick & easy recipes, and prayer. Striving to be a
Proverbs 31 woman in today's busy world is so much easier when we stick
together!
Out of the Nest & Beyond is designed to help women with the basics of home
management, based on Biblical values. While learning practical and
useful tips & methods for cooking, cleaning, decorating, organizing, etc...
we
also look at the importance of being a Godly woman.
My Testimony...
During the summer of 2004, I ran across a book by P.B.
Wilson called, God is in the Kitchen Too. It had devotionals and
recipes (which I cannot resist), so I bought it. This book made a great
impact on me! Not only did it talk about the importance of your kitchen
ministry, it made me realize how many young women had no training for
being a wife or mother.
With so many women in the work force, cooking, cleaning, and other
duties have fallen away or have been hired out. So many women have
not even been taught the basics of cooking. I truly believe that God led
me to buy P.B. Wilson's book. The very things I learned the hard way,
through trial and error, I would be able to teach others.
With God's guidance, I have written a book covering a multitude of
subjects; all based on Proverbs 31. Like I mentioned, it has taken
me years to learn these concepts and to see the importance of
them. By no means have I mastered them all, but I am allowing God to
teach me and help me grow in His timing.
Women have such awesome responsibilities. Even when you are
trained, it can be overwhelming. Without the basic knowledge of
running a household, it can be devastating. It is my prayer that through this book and the seminars, I can help
ease the chaos for
women as they strive to become who God has called them to be. When we do this,
we will not only bring glory to our families, but to God Himself!
Prayerfully in His Service,
Susan Sikes
